Cheese straws
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- sifted flour - 3 c
- butter or oleo - 1 c
- red pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Parmesan - 1/4 c
- sharp cheese, grated Kraft extra sharp or Cracker Barrel are good - 1 lb
How to make cheese straws:
Mix flour, salt, pepper and grated cheese. Soften butter using electric mixer. Add flour to cheese mixture. Mix well until mixture looks like butter. Put into a cookie press. Using star pattern, make long continuous bar down length of cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until done. Be careful not to overbake. Cut into desired lengths when first removing from oven. May be stored for several weeks.Recipe categories: Eggs/dairy, < 15 mins, Cheese.
