Ingredients/Components

  • lb sharp cheddar cheese, shredded - 1 item
  • cup chopped pecans - 1 item
  • to 1 cup mayonnaise - 3/4 item
  • medium onion, grated or finely chopped - 1 item
  • clove garlic, pressed optional - 1 item
  • cup strawberry preserves - 1 item

How to make cheese ring:

Combine all ingredients except preserves and mix well. Chill. Mold into ring. (I coat a small jello ring mold with vegetable spray and press ingredients into that before chilling.) When ready to serve, unmold onto serving plate, fill middle with preserves. Can be served as a complement to a main meal or as an hors d'oeuvre with crackers.
