Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- egg yolks - 4 item
- oil - 1 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- grated carrots - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- sifted flour
- hot water
- allspice - 1 tsp
- egg whites, stiffly beaten - 4 item
How to make carrot cake:
Combine sugar and oil until creamy. Combine egg yolks and hot water. Add to creamed mixture. Add carrots and mix. Combine all dry ingredients and sift together. Add flour and nuts to creamed mixture. Then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in greased angel food pan or 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Carrots.
