Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco shortening - 1/2 c
- sweet milk - 1 c
- box light brown sugar - 1 item
How to make caramel pound cake:
Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar thoroughly. Gradually add sugar. Continue creaming. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Sift baking powder with flour; add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla and blend well. Turn batter into a well-greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and bake at 325° for 90 minutes or until cake test done.
