Caramel popcorn
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- corn syrup - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- firmly packed light brown sugar - 1 c
- freshly popped corn - 4 qt
How to make caramel popcorn:
Spread popcorn in a large, shallow roasting pan. Stir sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils. Continue cooking, without stirring, 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour corn syrup mixture over popcorn. Bake at 250°, uncovered, 1 hour. Break apart and cool.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Grains.
