Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • pecans - 1/2 c
  • Karo syrup - 1/2 c
  • popcorn - 20 c
  • pinch of cream of tartar - 1 item

How to make caramel corn:

Combine brown sugar, margarine and syrup. Boil 5 minutes. Add salt, vanilla, soda and cream of tartar (it should foam up). Pour over popcorn and nuts. Put in dish and bake at 250° to 275° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread out after removing from oven.
