  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • sticks oleo - 2 item
  • white Karo syrup - 1/2 c
  • pinch of cream of tartar - 1 item

How to make caramel corn:

Bring the brown sugar oleo and Karo syrup to a rolling boil and cook for 5 minutes. Add the soda, cream of tartar and salt. Mix well. Pour over 7 to 8 quarts popped corn. Place in 2 buttered cookie sheets and bake at 200° for 1 hour. Stir a couple of times. Peanuts may be added.
