Candy cane cookies
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1/2 c
- vanilla
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- self-rising flour
- red food coloring - 1/2 tsp
- 10x sugar - 1 c
How to make candy cane cookies:
Mix all ingredients thoroughly except food coloring. Divide dough in half. To half of dough, add food coloring. Blend well. Shape 1 teaspoon of dough from each half into 4-inch rope. For smooth even ropes, roll them back and forth on lightly floured board. Place ropes side by side. Press together lightly and twist. Complete cookies one at a time. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Curve top of each cookie to form handle of cane. Bake until set and very lightly browned.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Hand Formed cookies.
