Cajun shrimp
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- water - 4 qt
- vegetable oil - 2 c
- dried whole oregano
- minced fresh parsley
- olive oil - 1 Tbsp
- hot sauce - 1/4 c
- minced garlic - 1 Tbsp
- dried whole thyme
- Old Bay
- dried whole basil
- red leaf lettuce - 1 item
- unpeeled large fresh shrimp - 5 lb
- large lemon, quartered - 1 item
How to make cajun shrimp:
Bring water and lemon to a boil; add shrimp and cook 3 to 5 minutes. Drain well. Rinse with ice cold water. Peel and devein shrimp; place in a large bowl or gallon size Ziploc bag. Combine remaining ingredients except lettuce. Beat with a wire whisk. Pour over shrimp and toss. Cover. Chill 8 hours.
