Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3 qt
  • large lemon, sliced - 1 item
  • unpeeled large shrimp - 4 lb
  • vegetable oil - 2 c
  • hot sauce - 1/4 c
  • minced garlic - 1 Tbsp
  • olive oil - 1 Tbsp
  • salt
  • seafood seasoning
  • dried basil
  • dried oregano
  • dried thyme
  • minced parsley

How to make cajun shrimp:

Bring water and lemon to a boil. Add shrimp. Cook 3 to 5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Drain well. Rinse with cold water. Chill. Peel and devein shrimp. Place shrimp in a large heavy-duty Ziploc. Combine vegetable oil and remaining ingredients. Stir well and pour over shrimp. Seal bag. Marinate in refrigerator 8 hours. Drain before serving.
