Cabbage au gratin
Ingredients/Components
- oleo - 3 Tbsp
- Parmesan cheese - 3 Tbsp
- dash of salt and pepper - 1 item
- slices American cheese - 2 item
- bread or cracker crumbs
- small head cabbage, shredded - 1 item
- Sauce:1 small can evaporated milk
How to make cabbage au gratin:
Sauce:1 small can evaporated milk dash of salt and pepper2 slices American cheese Topping:1/2 c. bread or cracker crumbs3 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese3 Tbsp. oleo Cook cabbage in boiling salt water for 7 minutes; drain.For sauce, mix ingredients and cook over low heat until cheese melts. Mix with cabbage and spread in shallow baking dish.
For topping, melt oleo and add crumbs and cheese. Spread crumbs on top of cabbage. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Put under broiler to brown.
