Buttermilk scones
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- vanilla
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda
- egg - 1 item
- raisins - 2/3 c
- chilled butter - 6 Tbsp
How to make buttermilk scones:
Mix together the first 4 ingredients; set aside. Mix the next 4 dry ingredients and raisins. Combine together the wet and dry ingredients. Take the chilled butter; with 2 table knives, cut together until totally mixed. Do not mix too much, but until a lump consistency. Form into a round stone shapes about 2 inches thick. Place on a baking sheet in oven preheated to 400° for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until a golden brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Scones.
