Buttermilk cookies



Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
How to make buttermilk cookies:
Cream together the sugar and shortening. Add the egg, salt and vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients. Add the dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately to the creamed mixture. Be sure to start and end with the dry ingredients and mix well after each addition. Drop onto a greased baking sheet; bake in a 350° oven for approximately 10 minutes.
