Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 6 item
- vanilla
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- plain flour - 3 c
How to make buttermilk pound cake:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with buttermilk. Mix both mixtures together. Pour batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, For large groups.
