- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla
- milk - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1 lb
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sticks butter - 2 item
- cake flour
How to make brown sugar pound cake:
Cream butter and shortening in a bowl, mixing well. Add sugar, one cup at a time. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Add vanilla, mix well. Pour into tube pan, greased and floured. Bake in cold oven at 300° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
