Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- nuts - 1/2 c
- sifted flour - 3 c
- cream - 6 Tbsp
- sifted confectioners sugar - 1 c
- brown sugar light - 1 lb
- shortening butter flavor Crisco - 1/2 c
How to make brown sugar cake:
Glaze:2 Tbsp. butter1 c. sifted confectioners sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla6 Tbsp. cream1/2 c. nuts Beat together butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk and vanilla to creamed mixture. Pour batter in greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Pour glaze over cake.Glaze: Cream the sugar, butter, cream and vanilla; add chopped nuts. Blend well. Pour glaze over hot cake.
