Ingredients/Components

  • half and half - 1 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • milk - 1 c
  • flour - 1/3 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • water - 6 c
  • garlic powder - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 3/4 c
  • chicken bouillon granules - 3 tsp
  • American cheese, cut up - 8 oz

How to make broccoli soup:

In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, saute onion in butter for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in flour until completely blended. Add water, bouillon granules, garlic powder and pepper; stir. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Add broccoli and milk. Simmer for 10 minutes or until broccoli is done. Stir in half and half and cheese until cheese melts. Serve hot. Makes 8 to 12 servings.
