Broccoli rice casserole
Ingredients/Components
- margarine - 1/4 c
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- fresh mushrooms - 8 oz
- cooked rice - 1 c
- jar Cheez Whiz - 1 oz
- can sliced water chestnuts, halved - 1 oz
- large bunch fresh broccoli, cut into small pieces - 1 item
How to make broccoli rice casserole:
In a large skillet, melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion and saute until translucent. Add broccoli and continue cooking for 5 minutes or bright green. Add soup and Cheez Whiz, stirring until cheese melts. Stir broccoli mixture into the rice. Fold in the mushrooms and water chestnuts. Transfer the mixture to a buttered 2-quart casserole.
