Breakfast casserole
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 5 item
- half and half - 2 c
- slices white bread - 6 item
- grated Longhorn cheese - 1 c
- sausage, cooked and broken up - 1 lb
- each salt and dry mustard, mixed - 1 tsp
How to make breakfast casserole:
Fry and break up sausage; drain well. Cut crust off bread and discard. Butter both sides of bread and cut in cubes. Spread bread on bottom of 13 x 9 x 2-inch casserole. Top with sausage. Cover completely with grated cheese. Mix remaining ingredients together; beat well. Pour liquid over top of cheese, sausage and bread. At this point, you can refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes or until slightly brown. Good with buttered muffins.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Casseroles, One Dish meal.
