Bread and butter pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- cider vinegar - 5 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- dill seed - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric - 1 tsp
- onions to taste - 1 item
- to 30 cucumbers - 25 item
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Slice pickles thin. Combine with salt. Let stand for 3 hours and drain. Combine all the other ingredients, bringing to a boil. Put in sterilized jars and seal.In memory of Mrs. Thelma Higley.
