Pear honey
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 c
- crushed pineapple - 1 c
- prepared pears - 9 c
- juice and rind of 1 lemon or lime both equally good
How to make pear honey:
Peel, core and slice, then measure the pears. Grind through fine blade of food chopper. Add pineapple, sugar and juice and rind of lemon or lime. Mix together. Cook 45 minutes to 1 hour on medium flame. Towards the end of cooking time, cut the fire down and stir constantly to keep from sticking. The mixture will be honey-colored when done. Put in jars and seal with paraffin. Makes 4 pints.Recipe categories: Fruit, American, Pears.
