Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 3/4 tsp
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- confectioners sugar - 1 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 2 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- unsweetened chocolate - 1 oz
- margarine - 1/2 c
How to make boston cream pie:
Cream Filling:1/3 c. sugar3 Tbsp. flour1/4 tsp. salt1 1/4 c. milk1 egg1 Tbsp. margarine1 tsp. vanilla Chocolate Glaze:2 Tbsp. margarine1 oz. unsweetened chocolate1 c. confectioners sugar2 Tbsp. boiling water Cake: Cream margarine, vanilla and sugar well. Beat in 2 eggs. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Beat in alternately with milk. Pour into greased 9-inch round pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Cool and remove from pan.Cream Filling: Mix sugar, flour and salt. Stir in milk. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Cook 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Slowly stir in 1/4 cup hot mixture into 1 beaten egg. Return to pan. Heat just to boiling. Stir in margarine and vanilla. Cover and chill.
Chocolate Glaze: Melt margarine and chocolate. Stir in confectioners sugar and water until smooth. Use immediately. Split cake into layers and fill with cream filling. Spread with glaze.
