Boston brown bread
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- molasses - 1/2 c
- sifted flour - 1 c
- seedless raisins - 1/2 c
- All-Bran - 1 c
How to make boston brown bread:
Measure All-Bran, raisins, shortening and molasses into mixing bowl. Add boiling water. Stir until shortening is melted. Add well beaten egg. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Add to All-Bran mixture. stir only until combined. Fill two greased loaf pans. Bake in preheated moderate oven at 350° about 45 minutes.
