Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 pt
- medium onion - 1 item
- can mushroom soup - 1 item
- shredded sharp cheese - 1 c
- stew beef, cubed
- or 5 raw potatoes, sliced - 4 item
- crushed Wheaties or other cereal - 1 c
- oil to brown meat in - 1 item
How to make beef casserole:
Lightly spray or butter 9 x 13 or larger pan. Brown beef and onion together in skillet. Mix sour cream, mushroom soup and shredded cheese. This is made in layers. In greased pan, spread layer of sliced raw potatoes, then layer of beef and onion, then layer of cheese, sour cream and soup mix. Repeat until you have used all ingredients except crushed cereal. Put the cereal on last. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°. I usually cover this for first half hour or so, then uncover.You can use different measures, like more meat or potatoes to suit your own taste.
