Beef burgundy
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 1/2
- butter - 1/3 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped parsley - 2 Tbsp
- mushrooms - 2 lb
- carrots, sliced - 4 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- thyme - 1 tsp
- brandy - 2 Tbsp
- slices bacon - 6 item
- garlic cloves, crushed - 2 item
- cans beef consomme - 3 1/2
- beef round or sirloin - 4 lb
- approximately 14 white onions
- Burgundy or cheap red wine
How to make beef burgundy:
Dice 6 slices of bacon; brown and remove from pan. Brown beef; cut in 4-inch strips. Put aside. Flame 2 tablespoons brandy. Saute garlic cloves, mushrooms and white onions.In another skillet, brown the remaining ingredients. Add everything together and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add more wine, if desired. Serve over rice or noodles.
