Bavarian apple torte
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1/3 c
- vanilla - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- cream cheese
- egg - 1 item
- Apple Mixture:6 medium apples
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- sliced almonds - 1/4 c
How to make bavarian apple torte:
Cheese Mixture:1 oz. cream cheese1/4 c. sugar1 egg1/2 tsp. vanilla Apple Mixture:6 medium apples1/3 c. sugar1/2 tsp. cinnamon1/4 c. sliced almonds Preheat oven to 450°. Cream margarine, sugar, vanilla and flour. Press crust mixture into flat bottom of spring-form pan. Set aside.In medium bowl, blend cream cheese and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Pour cheese mixture over crust.
Peel and slice apples. Gently toss apples with sugar and cinnamon. Spread apple mixture over all. Bake 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 400°. Continue baking for 25 minutes. Sprinkle almonds over top of torte and continue baking until lightly browned. Cool before removing from pan. Refrigerate.
