Basic quiche
Ingredients/Components
- 9-inch deep dish pie crust - 1 item
- eggs - 3 item
- evaporated milk - 1 c
- grated Swiss cheese - 2 oz
- grated Cheddar cheese - 2 oz
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- stick butter, softened - 1/2 item
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- dash of paprika - 1 item
- chopped onions - 1/3 c
- frozen chopped broccoli or spinach
- bacon bits - 1 item
How to make basic quiche:
Optional:1 pkg. frozen chopped broccoli or spinach bacon bits Preheat oven at 375°. Spread butter along pie crust. Fill pie crust with mixture of both grated cheeses. Beat eggs with milk. Add all seasonings and mix well. Sprinkle chopped onions over cheese. Pour milk into crust. (Note: If using vegetables; add to pie crust and mix with cheese before pouring milk into pie crust.) Sprinkle bacon bits on top of pie filling. Bake in preheated oven 30 to 45 minutes or until light golden brown. Test for doneness by inserting knife in center.
