Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 1 tsp
  • catsup - 1/4 c
  • pinch of pepper - 1 item
  • small white onions, peeled - 12 item
  • slices bacon, diced and cooked crisp - 4 item

How to make barbecued onions:

Parboil onions 5 minutes. Drain and place in a buttered shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Mix catsup, water, vinegar, salt and pepper. Spread over onions. Sprinkle mixture with brown sugar and bacon. Bake uncovered until tender, 30 minutes, at 375°.
