Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 4 tsp
  • butter or margarine
  • water - 1/4 c
  • vinegar - 1/4 c
  • paprika - 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • catsup - 1/2 c
  • mustard - 1 tsp
  • small onion, chopped fine - 1 item
  • frankfurters and rolls - 8 item

How to make barbecued franks:

Sauce:1 Tbsp. butter or margarine1 small onion, chopped fine4 tsp. sugar1 tsp. mustard1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce1/2 tsp. paprika1/2 c. catsup1/4 c. water1/4 c. vinegar Saute chopped onion in melted margarine. Add remaining sauce ingredients, mix well and bring to a boil. Remove from heat.

Preheat grill to medium for 5 to 10 minutes. Slit franks and place in flat baking pan, slit side up. Add sauce; cook on medium for about 30 minutes, basting once or twice. Butter rolls and toast lightly on grill. Serve immediately.
