Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 3
- catsup - 1 c
- prepared mustard - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- medium onions - 2 item
- celery - 1/2 c
- cut up fryer - 3 lb
- x 7 1/2-inch baking dish - 11 item
How to make barbecued chicken:
Brown chicken in oil. Remove chicken. Add chopped onion and celery to oil; cook until tender. Add 1 cup catsup, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 to 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons each brown sugar, vinegar and prepared mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes; skim off fat. Place chicken in 11 x 7 1/2-inch baking dish; pour sauce over. Bake uncovered at 350° for 1 1/4 hours or until done, basting occasionally.
