Banana tea bread
Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 2/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- eggs, well beaten - 2 item
- mashed ripe bananas 2 to 3 bananas - 1 c
- chopped walnuts optional or 1 c - 1/2 c
How to make banana tea bread:
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside. Work shortening with a spoon until fluffy and creamy, then add sugar gradually while continuing to work with a spoon until light. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour mixture alternately with the bananas, a small amount at a time, beating smooth after each addition. Turn into a greased or oiled loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inch.
