Banana tea bread
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/3 c
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- sifted flour
- white sugar - 2/3 c
- to 4 bananas - 3 item
How to make banana tea bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together the flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cream the shortening; add the sugar gradually and continue working until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and beat well. Add the flour mixture alternately with the bananas a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Pour into a well-greased bread pan (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3-inches) and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes.Variation: For raisin, date or nut banana bread, add 1 cup of any or each to the batter.
