  • graham cracker crumbs - 2 c
  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • butter - 1 item
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 lb
  • small bottle maraschino cherries - 1 item
  • carton Cool Whip - 1 oz
  • large can crushed pineapple, drained well - 1 item
  • bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise - 5 item

How to make banana split cake:

Combine cracker crumbs, 1/2 cup melted butter and sugar; mix well. Pat into 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake in preheated 300° oven for 10 minutes. Cool.

Cream eggs, confectioners sugar and 1 cup softened butter together until light and fluffy. Pour over crust. Spread pineapple over top. Arrange banana halves over pineapple. Spread Cool Whip over bananas. Sprinkle with pecans.

Indent lightly into sections. Place 1 cherry in center of each section. Chill thoroughly.

Note: A layer of strawberries may be placed over bananas for variation, if desired.
