  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 3 Tbsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • egg yolks - 4 item
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • egg whites - 4 item
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • finely chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • cream cheese, softened - 1 (8
  • large banana, mashed - 1 item
  • recipe Cream Cheese Frosting - 1 item
  • Line bottom with waxed paper; set aside

How to make banana nut roll:

Lightly grease 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan. Line bottom with waxed paper; set aside.

Filling: Combine cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar. Beat until smooth. Add whole egg and milk. Beat until combined. Spread in prepared pan; set aside.

Cake: Stir together flour, baking powder and soda; set aside. Beat egg yolks and vanilla until thick and lemon colored. Gradually add 1/3 cup sugar. Beat until dissolved. Stir in bananas and nuts. Thoroughly wash beaters. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Fold yolk mixture into egg whites. Sprinkle flour mixture evenly over egg mixture. Fold in just until blended. Carefully spread batter evenly over filling in pan. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes. Immediately loosen cake from sides of pan and turn out onto towel sprinkled with powdered sugar. Carefully peel off paper and roll up cake; cool. Spread top with Cream Cheese Frosting.Cream Cheese Frosting:1/2 of 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese1/2 tsp. vanilla1 c. powdered sugar1 to 2 Tbsp. milk Combine 1/2 of 3 ounce package cream cheese and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in powdered sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons milk to make of spreading consistency.
