Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- sour cream - 3 mashed
- flour
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- nuts, chopped optional - 1/4 c
- Crisco solid - 1/2 c
How to make banana cake:
Mix sour cream, bananas and baking soda together. Combine all dry ingredients; set aside. Mix beaten egg yolks, sugar and Crisco well for about 2 minutes at medium speed. Alternately add mashed banana mixture and dry ingredients to the sugar mixture. Mix about 2 to 3 minutes more. Fold in beaten egg whites. Add nuts, if desired. Pour batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 325° for 50 to 55 minutes. If making loaves, reduce baking time to 35 to 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
