  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1/4 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour
  • egg whites - 4 item
  • wheat germ - 1/2 c

How to make banana bread:

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix in wheat germ. Add all remaining ingredients and beat well. Place in an oiled 8 x 4-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour or until done. Yields 1 loaf (16 slices), approximately 130 calories per serving (1 slice).
