Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- all-purpose flour, sifted
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- softened butter - 1/2 c
How to make baking powder biscuits:
Measure flour and sift all the dry ingredients together. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Form a wet dough with the milk. Knead 8 or 10 times. With a floured hand, pat dough out to a 1/2-inch thickness. Cut out biscuits with a floured biscuit cutter. Pat out scraps and cut again until all dough is used and refrigerate biscuits for 1 hour.
