Baked ziti
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
- chopped onions - 1/3 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- Mozzarella cheese - 1 c
- sliced mushrooms - 1/2 c
- spaghetti sauce
- uncooked ziti - 3 c
- Italian sausage, cut into slices - 1/2 lb
- eggplant, pared and cut into strips - 2 c
How to make baked ziti:
Brown sausage, onions, garlic, mushrooms and eggplant. Saute until vegetables are tender; drain off fat. Add salt and pepper. Set aside.Cook ziti 10 minutes. Mix ziti with 2 cups of the sauce. Spread 1/4 cup of sauce on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan. Arrange 1/2 of ziti in pan and spoon eggplant mixture evenly over ziti.
Top with 1/2 cup of sauce, 2/3 cup of Mozzarella cheese and 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese. Cover with remaining ziti, sauce and cheeses. Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly. Enjoy!
