Ingredients/Components
- milk
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- 3 oz - 1/2 c
- cornflakes, crushed - 1/2 c
- coarsely cut cabbage - 4 5
How to make baked cabbage:
Make a medium white sauce. Melt butter over low heat. Add flour and cook a few minutes, stirring. Add milk and stir constantly until thickened, about 10 minutes. Salt and cook the cabbage with very little water until tender. Drain well. Combine cheese. Grease a large baking dish. Layer all of the cabbage, half of the cheese and all of the white sauce. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle with cornflake crumbs. Bake at 350° until heated through and the cheese is golden brown, about 30 minutes.
