Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 6 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- flour - 8 c
- butter - 1/2 lb
- raisins - 1 item
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- lukewarm water - 1/2 c
- scalded milk - 1 c
How to make babka:
Dissolve yeast in water. Heat milk with butter and sugar. Add half the flour, eggs and vanilla. Add rest of flour. Let rise until double in quantity; knead and let rise again. Wash with milk and egg on top. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes; then at 325° for 50 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Grains, Yeast breads.
