Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- soda
- buttermilk - 2 c
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- 100% Bran Buds - 1 c
- 40% Bran Flakes and Bran Buds - 2 c
How to make bran muffins:
Soak Bran Buds in boiling water. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time, beating. Combine flour, salt and soda. Add to first mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add Bran Flakes and Bran Buds. Raisins and nuts may be added to taste. Pour into greased muffin tins. Cook at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 2 quarts.
