Applesauce cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 2 c
• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• shortening
• raisins
• nuts, chopped - 1 c
• cloves - 1/2 tsp
• applesauce - 1 c

How to make applesauce cookies:

Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together flour, salt, cloves and cinnamon; set aside. Mix egg, sugar and shortening with a spoon until light and fluffy. Combine applesauce and baking soda and add to ingredients. Mix well. Stir in nuts and raisins. Drop by teaspoons onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes approximately 100 cookies.
