  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • applesauce - 25 oz
  • flour - 2 c
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • raisins optional - 1 c

How to make applesauce cake:

Mix shortening, sugar and applesauce together. Mix dry ingredients together; add to applesauce mixture. Add raisins; mix again. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. When cool, frost with chocolate frosting.
