Ingredients/Components
- cooking apples - 6 item
- sugar
- water - 2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
- milk - 1/2 c
How to make apple dumplings:
Sauce:2 c. sugar2 c. water1/4 c. butter1/4 tsp. cinnamon1/4 tsp. nutmeg Dough:2 c. flour1 tsp. salt2 tsp. baking powder3/4 c. shortening1/2 c. milk Peel and core apples.Dough: Mix flour, salt, baking powder and shortening together. Add milk. Separate dough into six pieces. Place an apple in each piece and bring the dough up around apple.
Bring ingredients for sauce to a boil. Put in pan with apples and bake at 375° until golden brown.
