Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
- apples, cored - 6 item
How to make apple dumplings:
Sauce:2 c. sugar2 c. water1/4 tsp. cinnamon1/4 tsp. nutmeg1/4 c. butter Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in shortening. Add milk all at once. Stir just until flour is moistened. Roll out dough 1/4-inch thick. Cut into 6 (5-inch) squares. Place one apple on each square, dot with butter. Fold dough to center and pinch to seal. Place 1 inch apart in greased baking pan. Heat sauce mixture until dissolved. Pour over dumplings in pan. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Apple.
