Apple cake

Ingredients/Components

• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• granulated sugar - 2 c
• salt - 1/4 tsp
• flour
• nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
• soda - 3 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• shortening - 1 c
• raisins - 1 c
• cloves - 1/2 tsp
• nuts if desired - 1/2 c
• smooth applesauce
• cocoa or 3/4 square chocolate - 2 Tbsp

How to make apple cake:

Cream shortening, add sugar and beaten eggs. Add soda to applesauce, then alternate with flour, cocoa, and spices, sifted together. Dredge raisins and nuts in flour, and fold in. Bake in 350° for 45-50 minutes.
