Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• butter - 1/2 c
• dash of salt - 1 item
• sifted all-purpose flour - 3/4 c
• ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
• ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
• orange juice - 1/4 c
• sliced, pared apples - 4 c

How to make apple betty:

Mound apples in buttered 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle with orange juice. Combine sugar, flour, spices and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is crisp.
