Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- egg whites
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
- lemon extract - 1/2 tsp
How to make angel food cake:
Sift flour once, using a level cupful. Measure and sift sugar. Separate egg whites and measure. Sift flour 4 more times. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Just as eggs begin to foam, add cream of tartar. After stiff, fold in sugar, a little at a time. In same way fold in flour. Pour in tube pan.
