Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 Tbsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- dry yeast - 1 or
- lukewarm water - 1/2 c
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Add the buttermilk and rest of ingredients; mix and cover. Put in refrigerator in a Tupperware bowl with a tight lid. Store until ready to use, then pinch off what you need. Make into biscuits. No need to let rise; they will rise in the oven.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
