  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 5 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 2 c
  • baking powder - 3 Tbsp
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • dry yeast - 1 or
  • lukewarm water - 1/2 c

How to make angel biscuits:

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Add the buttermilk and rest of ingredients; mix and cover. Put in refrigerator in a Tupperware bowl with a tight lid. Store until ready to use, then pinch off what you need. Make into biscuits. No need to let rise; they will rise in the oven.
