Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
- sifted flour - 5 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Sift enriched all-purpose flour and measure. Resift 3 times with soda, salt, sugar and baking powder. Cut in shortening until mixture appears like coarse meal. Soften yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Add yeast and buttermilk in center of flour mixture. Stir until all flour is moistened.
